Fishing
Fishing is another popular mini-game. It was formerly part of a larger winter event, but seems to be recurring on its own now. In contrast to other mini-games, rewards/progress are timing-finesse based.
Fishing / Fisherman's Wharf[edit | edit source]
Fishing spans four areas (cabin, glacier, coast, beach). There's different species in each. But you mainly want to get the largest amount for πsilver coins. As this will raise the total amount caught, and thus the likelihood for area progress, exchange and rod unlocks, and better rewards. Using the multiplier evens out, though it's commonly advised for later on.
More interestingly there's Rare, Epic and Legendary fish. The latter will yield πͺgold coins ("Kingfish Certificates") for the exchange shop. 10 or 12 gold coins will net one of the main rewards. Which is often attainable from the free play tokens.
The play-along token here is "bait" - the orange-striped fish. Which you can get from the usual tasks, progress bonuses, coin exchange, or daily logins (when part of larger events). It's around ~465 free bait. Or a 100 gems per extra bait.
Gameplay[edit | edit source]
You start with the casting phase, by hitting the fishing reel (the yellow round thingy with the bait fish inside). This is where you want to stop the crosshair in the green zone. Ideally you want the needle to hit the inner dark green stripe. Because hitting it consistently will raise the amount of perfect throws, and thus better/heavier catch.
This takes some attention, aquaintance and timing. Most attempts succeed when you click when the needle is just passing onto the outer/lighter green zone.
Reeling & tension[edit | edit source]
In the catching phase, you'll have to rope in the fish before it escapes. Leaving the rod unattended will raise the catches distance (it escapes after >150m). Permanent pressing will also snap the line. You have to pay attention how strong the tension becomes.
- When the indicator goes orange, your phone buzzes, or the depth indicator becomes red:
- Then it makes sense to let go temporarily until the catch calms itself.
- Or do short interrupted pushes on the reel to prevent potential legendary catches to run away.
- You have to balance the tension from going all red, as well as the fish reaching the escape distance.
It might take several alternations of reeling and unwinding before distance reaches 0m. Often reeling in is slowed down after an escape attempt, followed by quicker reeling after another.
Base tension[edit | edit source]
Speaking of tension, the base tension (which you can't get below) indicates if your current catch is rare, epic or legendary.
Note that it varies between maps and rods used.
For legendary hooks, there's obviously least leeway. You often have to let go of pulling it in three to five times. So the line doesn't rip when it tries to run.
Escape gems[edit | edit source]
Though, if a line snaps, no worries. You can get a 50 gem screen if it was potentially a legendary catch.
You should usually agree to this screen. (In particular if you don't know if you're at one of the πͺ legendary catch thresholds. Note: unclear if it's guaranteed for later attempts.)
Legendary thresholds[edit | edit source]
In the last few times the event ran, there were thresholds for guaranteed legendary catches. (There's likely still lucky catches on earlier stages. Which is why trying for perfect throws is highly recommended.)

- Catch rewards fora legandary fish is around a ~1000 π silver coins on top.
- Whereas epic catches might go for ~500 π silver coins.
- It supposedly amounts to π100 coins for 1kg of catch.
- By rough estimates you'll need 40 bait for each πͺ gold coin.
Reward exchange[edit | edit source]
This event is quite fruitful. Lots of the typical goodies. This is an incomplete overview. And with recent game changes, rewards are likely to differ anyway,
Coins | Prize |
---|---|
12πͺ | Selectable weapons arcana,
artifact (twin blades), or weapon core |
10πͺ | Selectable limited collectible, |
8πͺ | Selectable S-Hero/Brand
or Limited Brand |
6πͺ | Blessing Synergy Scroll |
5πͺ | Random Hero/Brand |
4πͺ | Swap Talisman |
3πͺ | Selectable Epic Hero/Brand |
2πͺ | Random Epic Brand |
1πͺ | Elite Pack |
1400π | 2x Gold Chest |
2400π | 10x Gold Keys (limit 20, great value) |
3200π | Elite Pack |
4800π | 5x Legendary keys |
6400π | 5x Wishing Scrolls |
4800π | Inheritance Book |
9000π | Gem Chest |
10Kπ | 5x Capygatcha coins |
20Kπ | Petskill retention stone thing |
1000π | 10x Meteoric Iron |
1200π | 200x Pet food |
1500π | 120x Pet Eggs |
800π | 2x Dragon Raid Ticket |
1500π | 10 bait (exchange them all!) |
Notably the silver exchange is grouped and even unlocked by area (later ones more expensive, but higher limits).
In this mini-game there isn't a silver-to-gold exchange.
Tips[edit | edit source]
- Letting a line snap for lesser catch is probably most advisable in the last area (beach), if you can still exchange wasted hooks / snapped lines.
- Using the multiplier (5x / 10x) when you have enough fish also makes sense for initial levels (according to reddit post). It's mostly proportional to the catch outcome. And you want to progress to later areas (unlocks exchanges, heavier catch in final map).
- On the other hand, doing each catch singularly avoids difficulty reeling in epic/legendary fish alongside basic ones.
- Take care when reaching any of the threshold total catch weights. This is where you probably don't want to let it escape. (It's unclear if it's guarantied to be distributed randomly over the next attempts.)
- Exchanging wasted hooks/broken fishing lines for bait is linear. Early levels are 1:1. When used up and from map 3 on, it's 5:5. It won't yield "extra" bait. But makes it more rational to let got of easy catches (=lower weight).
- What you should pick up on is the 1500π for 10 bait exchange, if available.
